This is a notification to all residents in the village of how the problems
today with the economy are affecting our village.

Grand River (GR) Annual Estimated Budget

$600,00.00
 $300,00.00 property taxes/sales tax etc,
$300,00.00 2% income tax.

Budget cuts in 2009
effective 4/01/2009

Cut all hourly workers to $7.30hr

Cut Grand River Fire Department
2 Firefighter 6 am to 10 pm, 5 days a week. 
(1 Grand River and 1 Painesville Twp. Firefighter)
1 Firefighter 6 am to 10 pm, 2 days a week (weekends)
From 10pm to 6am we will rely on mutual aid from Fairport.

Cut Public Works department
hours-very restricted

Grand River Police Department
running at minimum coverage

The following are some of the actions Mayor Conley, Council and Departments have taken:
 Applied for
Federal Stimulus Money, FHA, LHS, EMS, and Cops More grants.
  Notified State representative Mark Schneider
Notified Senator Tim Grendell
